The Renogy 10W Solar Battery Trickle Charger Maintainer is a compact, plug-and-play device designed to maintain 12V batteries by converting sunlight into a stable charging current. Its flexible installation options—SAE quick-connect plus three direct connection choices (ring terminals, alligator clips, and cigarette lighter adapters)—enable direct battery connection across boats, SUVs, RVs, electric fences, accessory batteries, and other off‑grid systems. By continuously topping off the battery in daylight, it helps prevent discharge and sulfation. Note: for some vehicles, the cigarette lighter port may not operate with the ignition off; in those cases connect directly to the battery, and disconnect during engine start to mitigate alternator surges.

Note:
- For some makes or models of vehicles, the cigarette lighter port may not operate when the ignition is turned off. In such cases, please connect the trickle charger maintainer to the battery directly.
- The trickle charger maintainer must be disconnected from the battery or cigarette lighter port when starting the engine or driving the vehicle. Electric surges from the alternator when starting and running may damage the trickle charger maintainer.
